CRYOGENIC OXYGEN
Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee · 2026-04-15 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-388-26, authorizing an additional expenditure of $6,297,661.00 for Contract No. EVN0000429, Cryogenic Oxygen Plant Maintenance and Technical Support Services (Group 1), for the Water and Sewer Department. This brings the total modified contract amount to $12,156,661.00. The additional funds are needed for unanticipated emergency repairs and operational needs due to aging cryogenic oxygen production infrastructure, including the restoration of two 40-year-old air separation units (ASUs) at the Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant following a catastrophic failure of a VPSA system in March 2025. The contract, originally approved on October 1, 2024, for a five-year term, provides specialized maintenance, technical support, training, and emergency repair services for seven cryogenic oxygen plants at three wastewater treatment plants. The county mayor or designee is authorized to exercise all contract provisions. The vendor is Ranch Cryogenics, Inc.
