CHANGE ORDER #1 LANZO CONSTRUCTION (S-958)

Miami-Dade County is approving Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-958 with Lanzo Construction Co., Florida, for the D2-C2 project involving water main and gravity sewer installation. The change order grants a 1,000-calendar day time extension and increases the contract amount by $5,411,816.28, bringing the total contract award to $12,664,944.53. The project involves installing 16-inch, 12-inch, and 8-inch DI water main and 10-inch and 8-inch DI gravity sewer along NW 22nd Avenue from NW 79th Street to NW 90th Street, and an 8-inch DI force main along NW 87th Street. The increase in cost and time is attributed to differing subsurface conditions requiring larger trenching and additional restoration, as well as unforeseen conflicts with communication and electrical duct banks. Funds will be used from the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
