Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is approving the award of Contract No. EVN0013501, for Quicklime, to Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Inc. The contract is for a five-year term with a total amount of $124,080,000.00 for the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD). This quicklime is a critical chemical used in water treatment operations at three regional water treatment plants to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The contract will ensure a reliable supply of approximately 42,000 tons of quicklime annually. The contract replaces a previous contract and reflects updated unit pricing consistent with current market conditions. The award was made to the lowest priced responsive and responsible bidder after a competitive solicitation process. No certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms were able to meet the solicitation requirements.
