Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is delegating authority to the County Mayor or designee to negotiate and execute an amendment to an existing Exchange Agreement with UniCapital Medley QOZB LLC for the South Dade Pet Adoption and Protection Center. The amendment will modify minimum design requirements and increase the County's contribution by up to $3,000,000, bringing the total County contribution to $6,200,000. An additional $1,000,000 is approved for a design and construction contingency. The total project cost is estimated to increase from approximately $21,000,000 to $25,000,000, with $18,000,000 in private funds and up to $7,200,000 in County funds. The enhancements are intended to improve facility performance, operational reliability, reduce disease spread, and support the County's No-Kill policy, incorporating specialized systems and meeting Association of Shelter Veterinarians guidelines. Resolution No. R-130-06 is being waived. The project is located in Commission District 8.
