Miami-Dade County is holding a countywide special election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to vote on amending the Home Rule Charter. The proposed amendments address the reestablishment of elected County Constitutional Offices (Sheriff, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections), clarify duties of the Clerk and County regarding finance and budget, and require County employees to take a leave of absence when running for an elected Constitutional Office. The Charter Review Task Force recommended placing these changes before the electorate. The resolution was introduced on 6/26/2026 and amended on 7/13/2026.
