CHARTER AMENDMENT, ARTICLE 7 ADVERTISING

Policy Council · 2026-07-13 · resolution

Miami-Dade County is calling a countywide special election on November 3, 2026, to allow voters to decide on amending the Home Rule Charter. The proposed amendment would expand allowable advertising within county parks, removing the current restriction that advertising must be related to sponsorship of events or facilities. The goal is to generate revenue for the Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department to support operations and new projects without raising taxes. Any revenue generated would be exclusively for the park where the advertising occurs. The resolution requires a two-thirds vote of commissioners present for placement on the ballot, and the amendment itself will be decided by a majority of voters.
