SAME DAY PERMIT PROGRAM

Miami-Dade County is creating a Same-Day Permitting Program for certain minor residential projects. The program requires the County Mayor or designee to develop and implement it, with reports submitted every six months. Eligible projects include fences (under 6 ft), gates, stairs, railings, driveways, pavers, trusses, pools, windows, doors, shutters, skylights, garage doors, roofing/re-roofing, kitchen/bathroom remodels, interior/partial demolition, prefabricated sheds, minor non-structural repairs, and MEP repair permits. Projects requiring structural review, those in historic districts, with open code enforcement cases, or to legalize existing violations are ineligible. Applicants must submit documents electronically prior to review. Fees will be refunded if delays are caused by the reviewing department. The ordinance was introduced on 7/7/2026 and amended on 7/13/2026.
