PINE ROCKLAND DONATION FOR EEL

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering the acceptance of a $925,000.00 donation from the Center for Biological Diversity, Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition, South Florida Wildlands Association, and Tropical Audubon Society. These funds are designated for the management and acquisition of pine rocklands within Miami-Dade County, supporting the Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Program. The EEL Program currently manages over 1,636 acres of pine rocklands and has identified an additional 415 acres for acquisition. The donation will supplement existing funds for conservation efforts. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation.
