Miami-Dade County is approving 19 grant award agreements totaling $285,000.00 for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Visual and Media Artists Grant Program. Of this amount, $165,000.00 is on behalf of Miami-Dade County. The grants are awarded to South Florida artists through the South Florida Cultural Consortium, an alliance of the cultural affairs departments of Miami-Dade, Broward, Martin, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties. The recommendation to approve these grants was forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation from the Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee. The Board is also waiving Resolution No. R-130-06 to expedite the allocation of these time-sensitive grant awards. The selection process involved 339 applications reviewed by regional and national panels of art experts.
