FIRE SUPPRESSION MOD (5YR)

Safety and Health Committee · 2026-06-08 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional two years and $18,629,677.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00862, Fire Suppression Systems Services. This brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $48,438,677.00. The extension is intended to allow multiple county departments to continue procuring fire suppression system services on an as-needed basis to comply with fire and life safety codes. The pool was initially established on October 2, 2018, for an eight-year term. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation on June 8, 2026. The pool currently has eleven prequalified vendors, with six having local addresses and three being certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms. The extension is requested to maintain operational efficiency and ensure continued compliance with fire and life safety codes across various county departments, including Community Services, Solid Waste Management, Transportation and Public Works, Aviation, Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Fire Rescue.
