Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department (MDFR) and The Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County (operating Jackson Health System) are entering into a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics. The training will occur at the Ryder Trama Center and includes classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care with trauma teams. This partnership aims to enhance paramedic skillsets for trauma care and high-acuity medicine in expeditionary settings. The MOU has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation.
