PHT MDFR MOU
Safety and Health Committee · 2026-06-08 · resolution
Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department (MDFR) and The Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County (operating Jackson Health System, including Ryder Trama Center) are entering a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics. This training, including classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care, aims to enhance skills for trauma and high-acuity medicine. Priority will be given to members of Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 1 and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. The MOU has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded this to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation.
