Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement to remove the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to complete certain environmental remediation and obtain a No Further Action Letter. It also modifies the environmental remediation provision, the closing date definition, and adds a provision for post-closing cooperation. The exchange involves the conveyance of 48,102 square feet of land (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010) from the College to the County for the Public Health Trust, in exchange for 48,456 square feet of County-owned land (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010) to the College. The original agreement was approved on December 3, 2024, and the Exchange Agreement was effective January 6, 2025. The amendment aims to facilitate the expeditious closing so the College Parcel can support the Public Health Trust's new Emergency Department project.
