RESOLUTION APPROVING FIRST AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the first amendment to a land exchange agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies conditions related to environmental remediation and closing dates for the exchange of two parcels. The original agreement, approved on December 3, 2024, involved exchanging a portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010 (College Parcel, 48,102 sq ft) for a portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010 (County Parcel, 48,456 sq ft). The College Parcel is needed by the Public Health Trust for parking to support its new Emergency Department expansion at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The amendment removes the requirement for the Public Health Trust to obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM as a closing condition, modifies environmental remediation provisions, and adjusts the closing date definition. The Safety and Health Committee recommended forwarding the resolution with amendments on July 13, 2026.
