Miami-Dade County Commission District 2 is the focus of a resolution directing the County Mayor to develop a plan to address illegal dumping and encampments. The plan will assess the extent of these issues, identify specific actions and timelines for reduction, list funding sources and proposed costs, detail how the Illegal Dumping Trust Fund can be utilized, incorporate recommendations from the 2017 Illegal Dumping Task Force Report, and include input from the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office regarding illegal dumping, encampments, and related illegal activities. A final report is due within 45 days of the resolution's effective date. The Safety and Health Committee recommended forwarding the resolution to the Board of County Commissioners with amendments.
