Transportation Cmte · 2026-04-14 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution declaring the acquisition of Parcel 6 a public necessity for road widening, beautification, and right-of-way improvements to SW 117 Avenue from SW 184 Street (Eureka Drive) to US-1. The project involves reconstructing and widening SW 117 Avenue from a two-lane to a four-lane divided road, including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, stormwater drainage, pavement markings, signage, signalization, lighting, and landscaping. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to acquire the property through negotiation, donation, right-of-way designation, purchase (at appraised or tax assessed value, whichever is higher), or eminent domain, with an incentive offer up to 15 percent over appraised value. The estimated cost for design, construction, CEI, and right-of-way acquisition is $19,997,315, funded by the ARTERIAL ROADS COUNTYWIDE program and MOBILITY IMPACT FEE. Annual maintenance and operational costs are estimated at $30,180.
