Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-377-26, declaring the acquisition of Parcel 5 a public necessity for road widening and improvements to SW 117 Avenue from SW 184 Street (Eureka Drive) to US-1. The project involves reconstructing and widening SW 117 Avenue from a two-lane to a four-lane divided road, including sidewalks, drainage, lighting, and landscaping. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to acquire Parcel 5 through negotiation, donation, right-of-way designation, or purchase, with an incentive offer up to 15 percent over appraised value, or via eminent domain. The estimated cost for design, construction, and right-of-way acquisition is $19,997,315, funded by the ARTERIAL ROADS COUNTYWIDE program and MOBILITY IMPACT FEE. Annual maintenance costs are estimated at $30,180.
