Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution approving a Tri-Party Railroad Reimbursement Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA). The agreement is for the installation and upgrade of railroad crossing traffic control devices at NW 30th Avenue between NW 22nd Street and NW 23rd Terrace, identified as Crossing No. 628404J. The project involves replacing and modernizing safety equipment, including gates, flashing signals, and control systems. FDOT will fully reimburse SFRTA for installation costs through federal Signal Safety Program funds. Miami-Dade County will assume ongoing responsibilities, including approximately 50 percent of annual signal maintenance costs and financial responsibility for future reconstruction or modifications initiated by the County or necessitated by roadway improvements. The County's annual maintenance costs will be funded through Secondary Gas Tax funds.
