Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize a designated purchase for Contract No. BW-10026, Transit Performance Analysis Software. This software is exclusively provided by Swiftly, Inc. and is critical for the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) for analyzing transit performance, real-time operations, and customer information. The extension is necessary to ensure continuity of services while DTPW procures and implements a replacement for its aging Transit Computer Aided Dispatch and Automated Vehicle Locator (CAD/AVL) system, which is expected to incorporate the software's functionality. A Request to Advertise for the replacement system is anticipated in late 2026, with multi-year implementation following. Competition is deemed impracticable due to Swiftly, Inc. being the sole provider of the proprietary software. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
