Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize a designated purchase for Transit Performance Analysis Software (Contract No. BW-10026) provided by Swiftly, Inc. The proposed action seeks to extend the contract term by five years, through August 31, 2031, and increase the expenditure authority by $5,307,410, bringing the total modified contract value to $10,031,578. This extension is necessary to ensure continuity of critical transit operational and customer-facing services while the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) procures and implements a replacement for the aging Transit Computer Aided Dispatch and Automated Vehicle Locator (CAD/AVL) system. Competition is deemed not practicable as Swiftly is the sole provider of the proprietary software. A Request to Advertise for the replacement system is anticipated in late 2026. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
