TRANSIT PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS SOFTWARE
Transportation Cmte · 2026-06-09 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize a designated purchase for Contract No. BW-10026, "Transit Performance Analysis Software." The proposed action extends the contract term by five years, through August 31, 2031, and adds $5,307,410 in expenditure authority, bringing the total modified contract value to $10,031,578. This software is exclusively provided by Swiftly, Inc., and is used by the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) for critical transit analytics and real-time operational data. The extension is necessary to ensure continuity of services while DTPW procures and implements a replacement for its Transit CAD/AVL system, which is expected to incorporate the software's functionality. Competition is deemed impracticable due to the proprietary nature of the software and the significant time and resources required for an interim alternative. A Request to Advertise for the replacement system is anticipated in late 2026. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
