CEI SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE UNDERLINE

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to approve Supplemental Agreement No. 1 for Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services for The Underline Phase 3 – Segments 3 to 9. This agreement is with Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. and will increase the maximum contract value by $2,252,721.83, bringing the total to $8,252,721.83. The contract term will be extended by 270 non-compensable calendar days, for a total of 1,654 days. This increase is necessary to support expanded scope and extended construction schedules due to community-driven enhancements, safety improvements, additional amenities, and schedule impacts including utility delays. The original CEI contract was approved on April 4, 2023. The project is a 7.36-mile multimodal corridor beneath the Metrorail system, including bicycle and pedestrian paths, bridges, landscaping, lighting, drainage, and wayfinding. The supplemental agreement ensures continuity of oversight, protects the County's investment, and mitigates construction and compliance risks. Funding will come from Mobility Impact Fees (MIF). The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
