Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Doral for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, effective retroactively to December 23, 2025, authorizes the use of the City of Doral's municipal share of Charter County Transportation System Surtax proceeds for the operation and maintenance of these services. The service, which began in April 2024 and is operated by Freebee using four Tesla Model X vehicles, provides stop-to-stop on-demand transit within and around Doral, connecting residents to key destinations for trips up to five miles. The agreement has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The BCC is scheduled to consider the item on September 1, 2026.
