Miami-Dade County is approving an Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Miami for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options, is funded by the City of North Miami's share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, meaning no cost to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using six Tesla vehicles, aims to enhance local mobility by providing stop-to-stop service within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations, with a maximum trip length of five miles. The service complements existing Miami-Dade County bus routes. The agreement was retroactively effective to February 5, 2026, the date it was executed by the City.
