ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI

Miami-Dade County and the City of North Miami are entering into an Interlocal Agreement for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options, is funded by the City of North Miami using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no cost to Miami-Dade County. The service aims to enhance local mobility by providing dynamically routed, stop-to-stop transportation within and around North Miami, complementing existing bus routes and connecting to key destinations. The service, which began in July 2023, is operated by Freebee using four Tesla Model X and two Tesla Model Y vehicles, with specified hours of operation. The Board of County Commissioners is set to approve the agreement, authorizing the County Mayor or designee to execute it. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).
