ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI

Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering an Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Miami for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has already been executed by the City and is retroactively effective from February 5, 2026, aims to enhance local mobility by providing dynamically routed, stop-to-stop service within and around North Miami. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using six Tesla vehicles, complements existing DTPW bus routes. The City of North Miami will fund the program using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no cost to Miami-Dade County. The agreement is for an initial five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
