Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering an Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Miami for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options, is funded by the City of North Miami using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no cost to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using six Tesla vehicles, aims to enhance local mobility by providing dynamically routed, stop-to-stop service within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations. The service operates with specific daily hours and a maximum trip length of five miles. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
