ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI
Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution
Miami-Dade County and the City of North Miami are entering into an Interlocal Agreement for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, effective retroactively to February 5, 2026, has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The City of North Miami will cover all program costs using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no fiscal impact to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using six Tesla vehicles, provides stop-to-stop transportation within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations, with a maximum trip length of five miles. Hours of operation vary by day. The agreement was approved by the North Miami City Council in September 2024 and is pending approval by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.
