ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI
Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the City of North Miami for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, which has a five-year term with two five-year renewal options, is funded by the City of North Miami using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, meaning there is no fiscal impact to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using four Tesla Model X and two Tesla Model Y vehicles, aims to enhance local mobility by providing dynamically routed, stop-to-stop service within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations. The service operates Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 7 pm, Friday from 8 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The North Miami City Council authorized the execution of this agreement in September 2024. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on July 14, 2026. The BCC agenda date is September 1, 2026.
