ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI

Miami-Dade County and the City of North Miami are entering into an Interlocal Agreement for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, effective retroactively to February 5, 2026, is for a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The City of North Miami will cover all program costs using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no fiscal impact to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using four Tesla Model X and two Tesla Model Y vehicles, aims to enhance local mobility by providing stop-to-stop service within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation on July 14, 2026. The BCC is scheduled to consider the resolution on September 1, 2026.
