ILA FOR PROVISION OF ON-DEMAND SERVICES WITH NORTH MIAMI

Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution

Miami-Dade County and the City of North Miami are entering into an Interlocal Agreement for on-demand transportation services. The agreement, effective retroactively to February 5, 2026, is for a five-year term with two five-year renewal options. The City of North Miami will cover all program costs using its share of Charter County Transportation Surtax proceeds, resulting in no fiscal impact to Miami-Dade County. The service, which began in July 2023 and is operated by Freebee using electric vehicles, provides stop-to-stop transportation within and around North Miami, including connections to key destinations, with a maximum trip length of five miles. The Board of County Commissioners is set to approve the agreement on September 1, 2026. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the Board with a favorable recommendation on July 14, 2026.
