LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH KELCO

Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution

Miami-Dade County is approving a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco) for the use of County-owned real property. The agreement allows Kelco to maintain an illuminated directional sign for the Hampton Inn, located near the Dadeland North Metrorail Station at the northeast corner of S.W. 70th Avenue and US-1. Formal bid procedures are being waived because Kelco is the only entity legally authorized to place the sign due to prior zoning variances. The agreement has an initial five-year term, retroactive to February 7, 2026, with four five-year renewal options, for a total potential term of 25 years. Kelco will pay annual rent starting at $6,000, with a three percent increase each year. The County retains the right to terminate the agreement with 180 days notice if the property is needed for other purposes. The item was introduced on June 24, 2026, and is scheduled for the Transportation Committee on September 1, 2026.
