LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH KELCO
Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is approving a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco) for the use of county-owned real property. The agreement allows Kelco to maintain an illuminated directional sign for the Hampton Inn, located near the Dadeland North Metrorail Station. Formal bid procedures are being waived because Kelco is the only entity legally authorized to maintain the sign due to prior zoning variances. The agreement has a five-year initial term, retroactive to February 7, 2026, with four five-year renewal options, for a total potential term of 25 years. Kelco will pay annual rent starting at $6,000, with a three percent increase each year. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to execute the agreement and exercise its provisions. The item is currently 'In Committee' and requires a two-thirds vote for approval.
