LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH KELCO

Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution

Miami-Dade County is approving a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco) for the use of County real property to maintain an illuminated directional sign. The agreement waives formal bid procedures, is effective retroactively to February 7, 2026, and has an initial five-year term with four five-year renewal options, totaling a potential 25 years. Kelco will pay annual rent starting at $6,000, with a three percent increase each year. The County retains the right to terminate the agreement with 180 days notice if the property is needed for other purposes. This agreement replaces a previous one that expired on February 6, 2026. Kelco is the only entity legally authorized to maintain the sign due to prior zoning variances and vested rights.
