LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH KELCO

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to waive formal bid procedures and approve a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco). The agreement allows Kelco to continue using County-owned property near the Dadeland North Metrorail Station, at the northeast corner of S.W. 70th Avenue and US-1, for maintaining an illuminated directional sign. This agreement replaces a previous one that expired on February 6, 2026. Kelco is the only entity legally authorized to place a sign in this location due to prior zoning variances. The agreement has a five-year initial term, retroactive to February 7, 2026, with four five-year renewal options, for a total potential term of 25 years. Kelco will pay $6,000 annually, with a three percent increase each year. The total estimated rent over 25 years is $218,755. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
