Miami-Dade County is approving a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco) for the use of county real property to maintain an illuminated directional sign. Formal bid procedures are being waived. The agreement has an initial five-year term, retroactive to February 7, 2026, with four five-year renewal options, for a total potential term of 25 years. Kelco will pay annual rent starting at $6,000, with a three percent increase each year. The agreement allows Kelco to continue using the property where the sign is located, as they are the only entity legally authorized to do so due to prior zoning variances. The County retains the right to terminate the agreement if the property is needed for other purposes. The item is currently in committee and requires a two-thirds vote for approval.
