LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH KELCO

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to waive formal bid procedures and approve a retroactive license agreement with Kelco Dadeland Associates, Ltd. (Kelco). The agreement allows Kelco to continue using County-owned property for an illuminated directional sign for a five-year term with four five-year renewal options. The agreement is effective retroactively to February 7, 2026, with annual rent starting at $6,000 and increasing by three percent annually. The waiver of bid procedures is necessary because Kelco is the only entity legally authorized to place the sign due to a prior zoning variance. The Transportation Committee recommended forwarding this to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The BCC agenda date is September 1, 2026.
