MOU WITH FDOT FOR COUNTER SYSTEMS ON COUNTY OWNED TRAILS
Transportation Cmte · 2026-07-14 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is seeking to ratify a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the installation and maintenance of two counter systems on county-owned trails within the Florida Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail Network. FDOT will fund and maintain the hardware, while the County's role is limited to approving installation locations and coordinating schedules. The agreement, effective from September 24, 2025, to September 23, 2026, also delegates authority to the County Mayor or designee to enter into future similar agreements with FDOT, provided they have no negative fiscal impact on the County. The first counter system is on the Atlantic Greenway Trail at 10800 Collins Avenue, Haulover Park. The second is on the South Dade Trail at West Palm Drive in Florida City. The item is currently in committee.
