PTP AMENDMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO DTPW

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to approve an amendment to the FY 2026-30 Five-Year Implementation Plan Update of the People's Transportation Plan (PTP). This amendment retroactively includes the purchase of fifteen (15) 40-foot diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) buses for the I-95 Phase I and II Project (CIP145). These buses were purchased in January 2017 for $3,896,702 using FDOT grant funds for I-95 Express Bus Service routes. The routes were discontinued in March 2020. The amendment is needed to authorize the use of PTP capital funds to reimburse DTPW's operating fund, which was used to pay FDOT $3,896,702 on January 12, 2026, for the depreciated value and unauthorized mileage of these buses, as their use deviated from the original FDOT grant requirements. The project is funded in part by Charter County Transportation Surtax Funds and is included in the County's FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget.
