The Mount Dora Historic Preservation Board met on June 24, 2026. Two Certificates of Appropriateness were on the agenda. The first, for 410 N Tremain Street, involved demolishing an existing 288 sq ft shed and constructing a new 411 sq ft shed. Staff recommended approval with conditions regarding the roof color and window grids. The second, for 822 Alexander Street, was a re-roofing project. The applicant proposed replacing existing metal shingles with Victorian Shingles. The board had previously tabled this item on May 27, 2026, to allow the owner more time to research metal roofing options. Staff found the proposed slate tiles to be visually and physically compatible with the historic metal shingles.
