This document is an agenda for the Islamorada Village of Islands Citizen’s Advisory Task Force (CATF) meeting on April 23, 2026. The meeting will cover CATF organization, an overview of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, discussions of potential projects, and CATF recommendations to the Village Council. The CDBG program has approximately $22 million available for FFY 2025 across four categories: Housing, Neighborhood Revitalization, Commercial Revitalization, and Economic Development. While funding request maximums have been waived, FloridaCommerce suggests caps of no more than $3,000,000. Eligible projects must meet national objectives related to benefiting low- and moderate-income persons, eliminating slum or blight, or addressing an urgent need. Potential uses for CDBG funds include water/sewer improvements, housing rehabilitation, street/sidewalk improvements, economic development creating jobs, downtown revitalization (facade improvements, streetscaping, underground utilities), park facilities, community centers, and drainage/stormwater improvements.
