The Aviation Advisory Board will receive a Hangar Status Report. The report indicates that the Inverness Airport (INF) has 16 T-Hangars with 0 vacancies, 0 on the waitlist, 4 pending, and 2 renewals. The Citrus County Airport (CGC) has 20 T-Hangars with 2 vacancies, 1 on the waitlist, 7 pending, and 2 renewals. CGC also has 2 Box Hangars with 1 vacancy and 0 pending. The Aviation Advisory Board meeting on June 11, 2026, will include project status updates. Major projects include CGC Runway 9/27 Extension (projected completion October 19th, 2026), CGC Fuel Tanks Replacement (scheduled for completion January 2027), CGC AGIS Survey (tentative final completion July 2026), CGC Airfield Lighting Replacement (preparing ITB for May 2026), INF Business Park (clearing and grubbing complete, stockpiling fill), INF Corporate Hangar (fire flow test completed), INF Master Plan & DBE (discussions on future development), Inverness Airport (INF) Fire Station (90 percent drawings complete), INF AWOS replacement (projected bid June 2026), and CGC AWOS replacement (projected bid June 2026). Minor projects include Airport Signage (design concept) and INF Paint Sheriff Hangar and Office (scheduling for April/May 2026). During the May 14th, 2026, meeting, Will Cosey (VP of EAA Chapter 1674) and Donna Cosey (teacher and business professor) provided updates on aviation education. They are working to create aviation opportunities for high schoolers, with an estimated startup date of August for an Aviation Club. Citrus High has curriculum for aerospace technology, private ground school, and general maintenance but needs hangar space. They requested assistance from the Aviation Advisory Board and County in finding hangar space. Will Cosey also reported that a broken grounding strap at the INF fuel site has been fixed with revised requirements to reduce risk.
