The City of Apopka is planning a reclaimed water storage and aquifer recharge enhancement project on the Golden Gem Road Property. This project involves the design, permitting, and construction of water storage facilities, including a West Pond and an East Pond, along with a pump station. The project is currently in the planning and design phases, with conceptual design for the West Pond expected by May 22, 2026, and construction initiation for the pump station targeted for September 1, 2026. The project timeline has been extended to March 31, 2027, to allow for further development and review of technical reports. This project will create opportunities for contractors and suppliers involved in site preparation, grading, underground utilities, concrete work, pump station construction, pond reconstruction, and final landscaping. Early engagement with the City is advisable as plans and permits are still being finalized.
