2. Approval of a plan to develop a low-impact development surface parking area

The City of Cocoa is planning to develop a low-impact surface parking area on approximately 0.9 acres of city-owned land at 216 and 218 Oleander Street. This project aims to provide about 80 public parking spaces, including four accessible spots and designated electric vehicle charging stations, to serve Cocoa Village. Planned features include decorative street lighting, street trees, sidewalks, decorative fencing, interior landscaping, and a minimum 5-foot landscape buffer around the perimeter. The construction will involve pervious pavement and other site enhancements. This project is currently under review. The work will likely begin with site clearing and grading, followed by underground utility installation, paving, and the installation of lighting, sidewalks, and landscaping. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in site preparation, paving, electrical, concrete, and landscaping could find opportunities by engaging early, before final bids and permits are issued.
