4. Consideration of a plan to develop a low-impact development surface parking

The City of Cocoa is planning a new low-impact development surface parking area on approximately 0.9 acres of city-owned land at 216 and 218 Oleander Street. This project aims to provide about 80 public parking spaces, including 4 accessible spots and designated vehicle charging stations, to serve Cocoa Village and nearby areas. Planned features include decorative street lighting, street trees, sidewalks, decorative fencing, interior landscaping, perimeter buffers, and pervious pavement. This item is currently under review by the Planning & Zoning Board. The project scope involves site clearing and grading, installation of underground utilities, paving with pervious materials, installation of lighting and fencing, and final landscaping. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early, before final site plans and permits are established, to explore potential opportunities in site preparation, concrete and paving, electrical work, landscaping, and material supply.
