Volusia County Fleet Management Services (FMS) is planning to offer a full range of fleet services to the City of DeLand. These services include preventative maintenance for vehicles at various mileage intervals and for heavy equipment based on hours or annually. The plan also covers all unscheduled repairs, on-demand safety checks, contract maintenance management, towing services, and vehicle washing when staff are available. Additionally, FMS will handle new vehicle numbering and data entry, provide monthly billing and annual utilization reports, and offer driver training and CDL testing. Extra charges may apply for damage to county fuel facilities. This is currently under review by the City Commission. This initiative would involve ongoing needs for maintenance, repair, and potentially towing services. Local contractors specializing in vehicle maintenance, repair, towing, and potentially driver training could find opportunities. Engaging early before final service agreements are set could provide a competitive advantage.
