The City of Jacksonville is undertaking efforts to make its City Council website and its housed documents ADA-compliant. This initiative involves updating city webpages, including those for individual districts and special committees. A significant part of this project includes bringing the Legislative Gateway, which contains legislation and exhibits, into compliance. While this work is underway, public access to legislation and exhibits will be temporarily restricted, requiring public records requests. Internally, staff will receive login and training for accessing the Gateway. This project is currently planned and under review, representing an early stage in the public process. The scope of work will likely involve digital content management, website development, and potentially data migration and archiving services. Local businesses specializing in web accessibility, digital archiving, and IT consulting could find opportunities to support these efforts as the city works to ensure all digital content meets compliance standards.
