AMENDMENT

The City of Jacksonville is considering an amendment to remove a waiver of Section 110.112. This action would appropriate $125,000 from the Council District 14 Community Benefits Agreement contingency account. This funding is intended for a direct contract with Vision for Excellence, Inc. (VFE) from June 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026. VFE will use these funds for personnel and professional services for the Summer and After School Discovery Experience Program. The program will operate at Lew Brantley Park and the McGirts Creek Community Center in Council District 14. A waiver of Section 77.111(a) regarding competitive procurement is also requested to allow this direct contract. This item is currently pending review by the Neighborhoods, Community Services, Public Health and Safety Committee. The proposed work involves providing personnel and professional services for a youth program, which may include program coordination, staffing, and related administrative support. Local businesses specializing in youth program services, staffing, and administrative support could find opportunities by engaging with the city or VFE early in this process, before final contracts are awarded.
