AMENDMENT

Neighborhoods, Community Services, Public Health and Safety Committee · 2026-08-31 · agenda_item

The City of Jacksonville is planning to add funding to an existing project for the production and installation of at least 12 health education signs. These signs will be placed along approximately 2 miles of new sidewalks on Old Kings Road from Plummer Road to Acree Road, and along approximately 0.50 miles of new sidewalks on Dunn Avenue/Harrell Street from Old Kings Road to New Kings Road. The Florida Department of Health will design the signage, which will educate pedestrians on the benefits of exercise and health. The City will be responsible for replacing any damaged signs for at least 10 years. This item is currently under review. The project will involve site preparation for sign installation, potentially including minor concrete work for bases, followed by the installation of the signs themselves. Contractors specializing in signage, concrete work, and general construction could find opportunities. Reaching out to the City early could provide an advantage before specific bids and permits are finalized.
