The City of St. Augustine is reviewing plans for the "Dining with Dignity Pavilion" and its Phase II expansion, which includes a proposed Drop-In Center. The pavilion, which opened in November 2025, has seen an increase in average daily attendance. Current operational improvements include ensuring ADA compliance, installing a grill, bike racks, and enhancing lighting, parking, and access for a mobile healthcare bus. Phase II will introduce shower and laundry services, requiring dedicated service providers for operations, access facilitation, and sanitation. Staff are developing a Memorandum of Understanding with UF Health St. Johns Care Connect to outline operational expectations for the Drop-In Center. This project is currently under review and in the planning stages for Phase II services. The work will involve site preparation for new services, installation of specialized equipment for showers and laundry, ongoing maintenance, and potentially construction or renovation for the Drop-In Center. Contractors, suppliers, and service providers in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, laundry equipment, cleaning services, and general contracting could find opportunities by engaging early before final plans and permits are established.
